In 2013, the Hunt County Commissioners Court adopted the Hunt County Master Plan which included an extensive plan for highways, other state-maintained roads, and city streets. In November 2016, voters in Hunt County approved the issuance of $24 million in transportation bonds to support planning, design, and engineering, as well as the County’s share of right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation for the following projects:
- FM 2642 (Royse City)
- FM 1903/FM 36 (Caddo Mills)
- FM 1570 (Greenville)
- SH 24/SH 11 (Commerce)
- SH 34 (Greenville)
- SH 34 (Quinlan)
Additionally, the Texas Department of Transportation – Paris District has engineered and is letting contracts to construct new I-30 interchanges at FM 1570, FM 1903, FM 36, FM 1565, and CR 2911 between FM 2642 and FM 1565. Subsequent to the construction of the interchanges, the travel lanes of I-30 will increase from 4 lanes to 6 lanes between Royse City and Greenville.
