Hunt County Economic Development Alliance is hosting a “Meet the Candidates Forum for House District 2” at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center from 11:30-1:00.  Come out and listen to the candidates discuss their positions on how they plan to support Economic Development, Healthcare, Education, Taxation, Transportation, Infrastructure, Technology, Tourism and Utilities in our county.

Paris Junior College – Greenville Center Update

Dr. Anglin will be speaking about this facility and other programs and updates to the campus.  It will be a complimentary lunch provided by PJC at the PJC Greenville Campus.  Although there is no cost, you do need to register for a food count. 

Hunt County Transportation Plan Update from Dee Hilton

In 2013, the Hunt County Commissioners Court adopted the Hunt County Master Plan which included an extensive plan for highways, other state-maintained roads, and city streets.  In November 2016, voters in Hunt County approved the issuance of $24 million in transportation bonds to support planning, design, and engineering, as well as the County’s share of right-of-way acquisition and utility relocation for the following projects:

  • FM 2642 (Royse City)
  • FM 1903/FM 36 (Caddo Mills)
  • FM 1570 (Greenville)
  • SH 24/SH 11 (Commerce)
  • SH 34 (Greenville)
  • SH 34 (Quinlan)

Additionally, the Texas Department of Transportation – Paris District has engineered and is letting contracts to construct new I-30 interchanges at FM 1570, FM 1903, FM 36, FM 1565, and CR 2911 between FM 2642 and FM 1565.  Subsequent to the construction of the interchanges, the travel lanes of I-30 will increase from 4 lanes to 6 lanes between Royse City and Greenville.

Texas A&M Commerce Hunt County Update

The Hunt County Economic Development Alliance invites you to come hear an update on the current status and future plans for Texas A&M Commerce. Texas A&M Commerce President, Dr. Mark Rubin will provide an insight into the plans for the University in Hunt County followed by a Q&A session. Lunch will be provided by Texas A&M Commerce. Sam Rayburn Student Center, 2nd Floor, Traditional Rooms

This is a FREE event and all attendees MUST register by September 8.

With approximately 6,500 members of staff, L3Harris and its predecessors continues its role as the leading economic engine for this area. It has been in operation at Greenville Majors Field for over 70 years and has been a major factor in the growth of Greenville. Its technology and capability as a preeminent contributor to our nation’s defense is recognized worldwide. L3Harris executives will provide an insight into the merger of L3 with Harris Corporation, the work of the Greenville operation and how the local operation has grown as its mission has evolved over time.

Hunt County Appraisal District Tax Presentation

With the 2022 appraisal notices set to be released on April 14th, join us to hear from the Hunt County Appraisal Districts Chief Appraiser, Brent South, regarding the 2022 reappraisals. Learn how the appraisal process works, how to appeal an appraisal, what property tax exemptions are available, and what role the appraisal district plays in the property tax system.

This event is scheduled for April 12, 6:00 P.M. at the Commerce ISD Administration Building located on 3315 Washington Street in Commerce and is open to the public with no pre-registration required.

GISD & Other Hunt County School Bond Presentation

5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Come hear Greenville ISD Superintendent Sharon Boothe share all the facts about the upcoming bond issue, which proposes replacing two 72-year-old campuses, renovating a 40-year-old building, adding an agricultural instructional facility and upgrading the transportation facility. Any other Hunt County Schools with bond presentations will also be included.

Hunt County EDA 1st Quarterly Public Presentation
